Taxonomic Note
This species was originally named Batrachoseps wrighti by Bishop, in honor of both A. H. Wright and M. R. Wright. It was later pointed out that conventions on the use of Latin in species names thus dictates that the correct spelling of the name be wrightorum, not wrighti. The amended spelling is now widely, though not universally, accepted.
