Default Re: Higher temp plants okay in cold?

It depends on the species. Some plants are facultative. They grow better at warmer temperatures but do ok in cooler waters. Others have a narrower range of temperature they can thrive in. With these sorts of fastidious plants, very often they will not survive, let alone grow. They would likely rot and end up fouling the water. Plants that are a reddish hue tend to be in this catergory and have specific requirements for optimal growth.
