I have raised some CO from larvae with black sand mixed with coco fiber before.
provided some plants and rock for shelters added some water till it is a bit moist. And a container with water with java moss in it.
Then I have fed them fruit flies, springtails and mostly handfed them frozen blood worms. Even some very skiny one did fine.
