I was about to be the killjoy and announce that it wasn't a lemur! Another geek beat me to it!

I have to still be geeky though, so here I go:

Tarsiers were placed with lemurs at first, in the 'prosimians' family, separate from the mokey and ape families, but then got put into a group all of their own. The group is predictably called 'Tarsiers'.
So now the primate families are: Tarsiers, Prosimians, Monkeys and Apes.

I need to get out more. Sorry for subjecting you all to the lemur lecture/tarsier talk.
