I use plain old ordinary inexpensive storage tubs. Then I drill holes in the lid for ventilation. Then I cut up an old bedsheet into pieces a little larger than the tub. The cloth goes between the tub and its lid, and it allows ventilation, but keeps in the fruit flies. When the cloth looks dirty, I launder it.

sorry Jennewt I Do cut the middle of the lid out and glue fine mesh in it's plase with aquarium sealent,the edge of the lid where it clips down is airtight,this method does stop escapee's thanks for the response
