I just read you can save $$ by making your own aqua filters using blanket filler. has anyone tried this? I have some laying around, I'm considering trying it.
Any kind of polyester fiber should work fine for aquarium filters. My only concern would be that some products might be chemically-treated in order to be fire-retardant.
That's a good point Jen. I'll have to be sure to look into that. I doubt what I have is treated. It was very cheap. I did make some today and tried out one in one of my frog tanks. Not too bad...
