Ok a couple of people have pointed out to me that i sound pushy when i ask for so many newts but let me explain myself...I ask for them because i am interested and i have space if i get no replies and chences are i wont i just dont stop asking...I try for a different species...And the only one i am really looking for now is an Eastern Varient...Sorry if ive offended any of you and Im really sorry i guess im just a little impatient

It's rude to 'ask for' newts... why don't you wait until they're offered? Just chill out, relax, enjoy what you've got. there isnt always a need for more.

I'd have to disagree Kaysie, the "wanted" section is offered just for that purpose. Just because a species is not offered in the For Sale/Trade ads doesn't mean somebody can't inform others that they are looking to acquire a certain species. This requires patience though and perhaps making many posts or posting for a new species only a short time after your original post is rude...

However, I do agree that "more" is not always necessary or better. I get frustrated when I see the same people reply to seemingly every For Sale/Trade ad wanting that species as well as the one that appeared last week in the classifieds as well as the one the week before that. I know I am exaggerating here, but it seems some people on this forum acquire new species at an extremely alarming rate, almost as if they are never satisfied with what they have. I suppose this all ties back into the "Pokemon Syndrome" thread.

However, he was not posting in the 'wanted' section, he was replying to everyones post asking for animals. There is a difference.

I agree with both Kaysie and Markus. I recently acquired some firebelly newts via one of the ads on here. I was surprised to find the name one of the new junior members (like myself) appear on virtually ever ad that had newts being sold/given away. My take on it is that this person (a female) is an impulse animal buyer, and seems to really love to "persuade" sellers somewhat pushily to go her away even after the newts have been sold.

Nesaraj - that is interesting and somewhat disheartening.

Kaysie - I think we are most likely seeing eye-to-eye. As per my previous post I do not feel it is wrong to ask for a species. However, the ability to want any and every species offered on the site I find to be lacking in "newt etiquette." Therefore replying to multiple ads on the site for different species, just to acquire anything you can is, in a way, rude I suppose.

Hayden - I am not meaning to pick on you and am not referring to only you in this post. Perhaps you should just focus on what you currently have (you've got some great species). For those who feel that it is time to expand with another tank, focus on acquiring one species rather than being willing to accept any that are offered. This way you will be better informed and prepared about what you are acquiring. If a species interests you research it on Caudata Culture and determine if it is what you want. If so, maybe post an ad and just wait for a reply. If you cannot wait for the animal to be available then it probably was not of much interest to you in the first place. By being dedicated to what you want and acquire you are showing respect and dedication to the animal which will definitely benefit you and the animal in the long run.

Hope I didn't preach too much.

Yeah i was really rude and I am so sorry i really truly am. I did post in the want ads though to after I realized there was a specific Forum for that...I am sorry you guys feel embarressed...No i do deserve the preaching

P.S. On most of those i did have something to add even though that doesnt make up for it and on the ones i didnt I Meant to...again im sorry and I hope i can be forgiven

Hayden, now you're better informed of how we run things. So welcome. I think you'll make a good keeper. Your enthousiasm is fantastic, but if you focus it better, I think you'll be better off.

Thank you kaysie for the welcome..I will try and do that...I have to figure out how to cancel posts or maybe that was on dendroboard...w/e...I have all the newts i want now...I just got 3 more red-spotted and im getting some CFB's...I am really impressed by the way that you guys are so helpful even to strangers.

I caught several Sals in the Wild while I was fishing and looking for tree frogs and was trying to see if they would trade for some Eastern Newts or C. orientalis....I released all but 2 because someone was interested in a trade...I thought about it and I dont want to disturb wild pop. Very much but there was about 6 of them under a plank in my cousins drive way after it rained...Thank you for your insights.
