Just bought myself another morphed axolotl from my local fish shop. About 5 inches long, still very much in its semi aquatic stage. Same colouring as my other sallie, cream with yellow spots.
No its not, here in australia only axolotls are legal. There is a breeder here in sydney that has a permit to breed and sell axolotls that have been crossed with tigers(several generations back before they stopped importing other salamanders) and as a result a small amount of australia axolotls are able to morph naturally. He was investigated a few years back by the controlling body here in oz and with DNA testing he proved the axolotls had some tiger sal. DNA in them. Long story i know but I have been assured by several people including the breeder that it is true.
yeh not a problem i'll get on it asap. I'm not sure if it is the same as tigers but morphed axys(well at least mine) are quite aquatic(underwater feeding etc)for at least 6 months after morphing. And then it is only after another 6 - 12 months of terrestial life to they mature sexual. At which point they will not go in the water at all
