Help! Mites?

Does anyone have pictures of what mites look like? I have a newt with a small black dot on him and i had one in the same tank w/him that just died. I don't knbow what it is, but I just realized that it could me mites. If so, how do i treat it?
 
What kind of newt is it? And where is the black dot? Does it move? Could you take it off with tweezers? Even if it's a mite, I doubt that this would kill the newt.
 
it's a paddle tail newt. i havent seen it move- it's very small. i could try to remove it
