Juvenile JFB question

My JFBs recently mated, which I didn't realize until I found 2 tiny babies in the tank. I separated them, am feeding them an alternating diet of chopped up frozen bloodworms & HBH newt pellets, finely ground. One thrived, the other lived about 4 weeks, but didn't grow or thrive & died a few days ago. I change the water partially every day & completely every few days. He's in a deli cup with a small plant. He's about 1 month old & has grown well.
My question is, lately he seems to be having equalibrium problems- he keeps floating vertically, occassionally floating nearly on his back. It almost looks like he's not yet gotten control over this bigger body. Is everything OK, is that normal at this age?

He may well have trapped gas bubbles in his digestive tract. Don't worry though! Place him in very shallow water, just enough to cover him, so that he can crawl around without the stress of overbalancing, and give him lots of food. He should pass the bubble once he has stuffed himself, and will be able to move around properly. It could take a few days.
COngrats on the breeding - you are obviously caring for your adults well.

It isn't really normal, but I've seen larvae do this, and then go back to normal.

Thanks!

I put an extra plant piece in there so he'd have more items to moore on, then I reduced the water after reading your posts. I'll keep you updated. I got the female (mom) from the classifieds here. :)

Your advice was very helpful. Sorry to take so long getting another post up. He was better by the next day.
