After observing my newt (eastern newt) closely the last few days, and taking him to a vet, I belive he's got a pretty bad oral infection. I don't think it's bloat because his body is not puffy, but below his chin, it's very inflamed/red and swollen. (Also his 2 feet are red, but not his legs or other extremities). He's bathing in some baytril twice a day, but has anyone tried anything else for this type of problem?
I'm not even sure of what it is, and neither was the vet, and I will be continuing the baytril, but I'm looking for other options. Thanks.
