Hi. I've just got myself 4 chinese fire bellied newts. I have them in a temp setup, and am going to move them tmrw. My question is, how deep should the water be and how big should the landed area be? Thanks

The land should be big egnuf for the newts to haul up on. And it , i dont think, dosent matter for water depth.

My firebellies stay 99% of their time in the water. A small landarea will do, like a piece of wood. My waterlevel is 15cm.

Don't use a filter, in my experience firebellies are stressed by it and will stay more often on the land area. Frequent water chances will be sufficient to keep your tank clean.

Joeri, wow our Fire bellies are different...I had to lower the water level in the tank cause all they did was sit on the small peice of land i had...Then when i put the filter in...They seem to lounge around the filter input in one of the plants...I have it about 8 inches deep...They seem to like it that way...
