Bark/rocks...

Hey-

I wanna use some bark and rocks from outside for my new marbleds I am getting, and I was wondering, how to sanitize them? I heard boiling them in warm water will do it? Any suggestions? Or should I just use driftwood? Thanks!!

It may be OK to use them without sanitizing. If you feel better about it, you can boil them.

Just use them without any cleaning,I've never cleaned the bark that I use with my Marbleds and haven't had any problems.I presume you mean Marbled Newt and not Salamander

Since he is in the USA, he probably means marbled salamander (Ambystoma opacum).

I have always cleaned my rocks and driftwood by either boiling or baking....if you're baking wood, be careful and bake it for 10 or 15 minutes only at about 250. I do it just to kill any algae. No sense in letting it get a head start!
