Advice on introducing new axie

I'm getting a new axie in couple weeks, once new tank is set up and cycled. Whats the best way to introduce the new one to Crunchie? I've read that they need to be approx the same size, but I'm still a bit worried cause Crunchie has been on his own for a while now. Any advice would be great. The new tank is 3 foot.
 
we always use a see through tank splitter for a while, this way they can get use to each other safely for a while. prob best to keep the new axie in a seperate tank for a about a month first, just to establish his/her health and eating habits.
