Hi Everybody! Happy new year to all!!

I've read a few threads about travel but I'm not sure if I've found my answer... I'll be away for about a month and my axie will be alone. Unfortunately for about 8 days there won't be anyone at my house!! I don't want to take him cause I'm scared of stressing him out...
Do you think it's ok to leave him for these first few days alone and then have someone feed him until I get back?!! I really don't know what to do! Thanks!

Your axie should be fine.

Keep feeding as usual maybe a little more, but don't feed the day you leave.

Give your axie a 20-30% water change, just before you go to make sure the water is fresh while you are gone.

Be careful though, your axie will be very hungry when he/she is first fed and might be a little snappy!

Ok, thanks!
But just a question...how often do you usually feed your axie? Can they really stay long without food?

he will be fine. Since they are cold blooded they dont need to eat every day and can last longer that warm blooded animals. I read a book that said that you can leave small live aquatic creatures in with your axie(make shour thay are free of desese)

I would avoid leaving live food in the tank while you are gone.
Personally I am a fan of live food but it does pose dangers especially if your not around to keep an eye on things.

I generally feed my axie's daily but sometimes every couple of days. They each have their own preferences to what type of food they like and how much they eat.

hi there, i also was stressing big time re leaving my "babies"- trialled auto feeder but it didn't work as they didn't eat all the food- which then rotted-
also wondered about live food but didn't want to risk it as we have never done it before...in the end i jst fed them normally- as Ed pointed out if you overfeed they will then create more waste. I left them for 4 days then returned to feed them- they looked fine however and could have gone for longer i.m sure- but the tank was pretty dirty.
