hey, i have a aquarium 60 centimeteres by 40 centimeteres and a height of 30 centimeteres. I installed a fluval 2 plus internal filter and placed it on the 30 cm wall of the tank vertically. the water flow is excellent but my sxolotl is constanttly swimming right underneath it, or to thw corners to the sides of it. could this be because of the strong current? If i lower the strenght will my filtration quality diminish?
thanks alot

If your axolotl is hanging around close to the filter then it is most likely because of the current.
You can turn the filter down which shouldn't affect your filtration too much.

If you want to keep it at full speed you can baffle the out-put.
I used an old seedling tube ( washed well ) and attached it to the out-put using an elastic band.
It makes the water come out in all directions rather than a direct stream. My filter is 1200L an hour so it causes quiet a current without the tube attached, bit like the ocean!

Here's a pic.
