Fish for axies

Does anyone know if giving smelt, or lance fish as its also called, to axies is okay. A pet shop i went to said it was so i tried to get some but can't find any. Apparently its a sea fish so is it okay. And are fish like sardine, mussels or prawns okay.

Fish filets are okay as an occasional treat, rinse them well if they're a salt-water fish. It's generally not recommended to feed live fish to axolotls, as they can nip gills and some have hard spines which may damage axolotls. Goldfish are especially bad, due to their high ammonia excretions, and high saturated fat and vitamin A content.

lots of pet shops near here sell frozen lance fish. I was wondering the same thing myself ..

i feed one of my axie's mussles. he loves the stuff! while my other one prefers beef heart, see even axolotls have different tastes in food ^__-

i tryed to feed mine barnicles but after 2 weeks he refused to touch them

Is guppy fry alright to feed the axies occassionally? I'm getting some girl guppies soon for my boys, and undoubtably they'll have some babies.

As long as you're sure the tank they're coming from is disease-free, the guppy babies should be fine to feed.

I breed feeder guppies in my turtle tank and tropical tank - when it starts looking crowded I net some out and toss a FEW in with the axolotls - they are usually gone in 24 hours.

LOL who knows what generation I'm on but I've had these guppies for um 3 + years?

Occasionally I got and buy a couple of dollars worth (twice a year) from the pet shop and toss the new ones in with my turtles. If there is no major die off - after a while I'll toss some females from there to the tropical tank.
