iv'e been thinking of adding a cpl of clown loaches to my axie tank just for a week or two to try get rid of these damn midge larva i have and they are apparently good to get rid of any snails too ?
i will have to rise my tank temp to about 20-22c for them too..
will this be ok do u recon for just a cpl of weeks ?

If you haven't placed the axolotls into the tank yet this may be okay as long as you are willing to quarantine the tank for at least 30 and preferably 45-60 days once the clown loaches have been removed. The reason for this is that clown loaches are typically very sensitive to ich and are known to be carriers most of the time.

i think you might need the tank a bit warmer than 20-22C for them, probably around the 25C mark http://fishprofiles.com/files/profiles/637.htm says 25-29C. they are good to eat snails though.

probably better to try some healthy guppies or goldfish to eat your midges, dont have to heat the tank then

might give it a miss till i get my bigger tank then just transfer all my plants, rock ,driftwood to the bigger tank and get some fish to eat the midge then quarantine it then transfer my axies to there new home.
i was hoping to put some loaches in with my axies for a week or two, but sounds like a bad idea now

would goldfish really eat the midge do u think and would they be ok for a cpl of weeks in with my axies ? i read guppies will chew on my axies gills

they might chew at your axies gills so id move them out while the goldfish do their stuff depending on midge and fish size, youd want to get fish that could fit the midges in their mouths but not be too small so they see alot and gobble them up. as long as theyre clean fish you shouldnt have a problem.
