Post all your stories of AXIE ATTACK!!! You or other axies I my self have had an experience that left me with scabs on my arm (lifted my axie out of the tank in shock)
I've never been personally attacked by an axie. They tend to grab and hang on to my finger if I tease them and pretend it's food. Of course,I'm far too mature to do that very often
. But I remember when I had my uber-aggressive female, Coatl, I would catch her hanging off Quetzals arm, having taken a big bite and refusing to let go while Quetzal tried to twist away. I used to have to separate those two. Poor old Quetzal. He outlived her though
I don't think axies could really do any damage because they can't even tear a worm lol. But hey Anne Coatl is a cool name, it was this dragon creatures name in a video game I played a few years ago lol.
I think it means Serpent in the ancient aztec language. Quetzal means feathered. The ancient Aztecs(i think) had a god called Quetzalcoatl, thats where the names come from.
BTW, has anyone seen an old 70's movie called Q.
It featured the old Quetzalcoatl menacing modern day San Francisco i think it was. Just curious - I love those old dodgy B movies.
Final Fantasy 8 has Questzalcoatl in it. If anyone is familiar with that game.... (Bit of a game freak here) They also have Axolotls in the game, but you fight them as monsters... strange enough. Some things tie together in the funnies ways ^_^
Hmm that is a bit strange. O and I swear my axie had a good grip on my arm that gave me scabs. It was the softer part of my arm that doesn't have any tan on it and I was littler so my skin would have been a bit softer too. I my have helped too with chucking my hand out of the water I actually lifted her out of the water. (Not fully) that will teach her ha ha ha ha I am so cruel. I am not lying I had scabs in the shape of tiny little teeth then scrape marks they weren’t serious scabs just small ones just remember a little scratch can make a scab
They do Joan. That is why I don't see how an axolotl could break skin of any mammal. They are mainly for holding onto food rather than ripping or tearing. Like lots of other amphibians they swallow food whole and don't chew their food.
Yes I know they don’t have teeth there just gummy things that grip and I ripped my hand away while she had a good grip. Think about it this way. if an axie had a good grip on a worm and you pulled it away fast then I think it would damage the skin on the worm as it damaged my skin (NOT BAD).
Just then I fed my axie (the same one that bit me) a worm for the second time ever she only ended up with the tip though because she bit right through it. It was quite funny to see the worm squirm on the bottom of the tank. Well anyway my point is that an axolotl can bite through a worm. This means that my story is possible.
my prancing peanut is quite the agressive female, very intelligent tho, i had a newsletter next to the tank and she looked at it as if she was reading it, even moving her head side to side. i fear to add a male to the tank because she would be very hard to live with!!! little agro bugger!
