Hi there
happy.gif

best of giving the dimensions of ur tank, then people will be able to help better, i have 2 in a 60x30x30cm tank but i would think that would be about the minimum size tank for 2 x axies
also u need to cycle ur new tank b4 putting ur axies in it, if u didnt already know

sorry cant help with where to get em in the ACT

umm yeh... my tanks like 65/40/40 i think...
I'm worried that fredrick won't like them or something.. n then he'll get hurt!! ahh!!
is there a quick way 2 cycle it or do you just need to wait the 30 days
I'm going to sound like a bad owner now but when we first got fredrick (about a year ago) we just stuck him in a tank with water!! i feel so bad!!

but have got another tank cycling, from what iv'e read u can add either filter media from and established tank or plants etc.. and that will speed it up a bit, but hey i'm just a noob too, if u wait other people will give u some better advise

hey guys, i just got my first axie and i dont know wat axie poop looks like...can someone post a pic plz

Stefan - Axolotl poop looks like a guinea pig dropping when it is firm.

When it isn't firm it is just a scattered blackish mess.

Tania - I wish there was a way to "fast cycle" aquariums and I owned the patent

As rob mentioned using plants, gravel and filter media from your established tank will help seed your new tank.

The time it takes to cycle will vary, the only way you know it has cycled is by the testing your water throughout the cycling process.

Adding a second axolotl can be tricky. They do not always get along. Make sure you have lots of hiding places where they can get away from each other and make sure they are well fed. Adding an axolotl that is close to the same size as the one you have would be best.

sorry to bother again, but my axies tail is going red... wat does this mean? It is a golden albino

Stefan - it could mean it is upset, being aggressive, stressed, too hot, or becoming ill.

Check your water temperature, and test your water parameters to make sure everything is within limits.

You stated above that you just got your axolotl, did you cycle your tank before you got him? If you didn't (or did) you need to keep a very close eye on the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate and do frequent partial water changes if need be to keep the water safe for the axolotl.

Hey dont worry to much tania i did the same thing too but luky nothing happened. o dont feel to bad we all make mistakes

. If you wont a friend then get one aobut the same size like a few people mentioned and hopfully they'll do fine
happy.gif
. Before adding new friends dont forget to quaritine in a seperate tank for a month or so to make sure he/she isnt sick or anything. So if your planing a new friend then get a tank cycling for him/her now and that'll save time later so you dont have to keep him/her in a bucket

.

Make sure he cant eat those pebbles cause they look the right size.

Wow! First we saw an axie who looked like a gold bar, now we see a gold nugget!!!
It's gorgeous.........I love it.

Your right though, it is really tiny. Just a baby.

Should i put sand in there?? aahhh im so new to this it fustrates me!! how long do they take to grow?

Does anyone know how old he/she would be?? there were soooo many at the pet shop... all of them had missing legs and one had a MASSIVE chunck out of its tail... it was really sad!

it'll take around from 6-9 months and i think you better put sand in or larg pebbles. Large pebbles can be abit stressful for them so sand is the go,

ok thanks, do you what type of sand i should use or where i would get it from?? Sorry for all the questions... thanks heaps for helping!!
