White wormy things

Hello

I have 2 axies and in with them i have some very small (~ 1cm max maybe) and very thin (like threads of cotton) white wormy things. I couldn't find anything like them on the forum or Caudata sister website (that i could find! They're definately not Hydra). They wriggle around and don't seem to bother my little guys but i just wondered what they were and if they were harmful?

Doubtful. Most tanks are literally crawling with microorganisms. A healthy tank has a good population of various little guys swimming about.
 
Mosquito larvae are grey-ish, and have a distinct head. Also, they don't swim, they stay near the surface (to get air).
