I found a huge female frog last night in the garden infact i nearly stood on her. She looked a bit disorientated so I took her up to my pond and I was quite suprised to see quite a few frogs in it already. This is the first year I have not allowed my domestic ducks into that pond having built them a new pond else where. This is a concrete pond 12' round. the female to me looked quite normal for rana tempora but the two in the pond where much darker and had very dark spots on them.
I went out again tonight with the torch and there is another female there now and two of the males are in amplexus with the two females. I will try and post a pic I took of them. you can see the very dark colouring on the male but unfortunatly the female is covered.
