Sudden darkening of B. Orientalis

Hi all,

I have 3 B. Orientalis in a 10 gallon 50/50 setup and one of them has recently darkened severely. She (I'm guessing on the sex) has turned from the usual grass green to a very dark green, literally overnight. This is making the black spots almost indistinguishable from the green. She appears to be bloated, or perhaps pregnant, and remains active to a degree, but does not appear hungry. Terrarium temperature is maintained between 60-75 F. What can account for this? Is this a sign of pregnancy or should I be worried about a possible ailment?

mine have also had the same problem. i have 4 FBT's in a 10 gallon and they seem to like it. Just recently 2 of them turned from the grass green to almost brown and are lethargic, dont eat much, and just look like garbage. WHAT CAN I DO?

I have one that turned a very very dark greenish color about a month after purchase, but it has fed and lived healthily for over 3 years.

FBTs will change color all the time from dark green to a bright green. Its normal. They all do it. Its nothing to worry about. Just make sure you temps are good and all is fine.

Day temps: 74-79F
Night temps: 69-72F
Water temps: 70-72F
