Can axolotls eat little squids. Are they good for them at all.

I've fed mine on occasion squid and other sea food, but must admit I am a little wary about the saltiness of them, I do tend to soak them in some water for a while to diffuse it..but I do not feed them very often . My axolotl's seem to like variety!

So i should use them as a treat every month or two. How long approximately do you soak them for?

anything from 10 minutes to a couple of hours..I usually remeber to feed them when I am preparing the evening meal, but in my household of too many kids and pesky cats I am prone to getting distracted ( hubby says its my age too) and when peace descends the lotties get fed!

Don't forget to remove the squid beak. May be a choking hazard, mmm chitin.

What is the squid beak. Is that their head?

ohhhhh...didn't think of that! what about the quill bit..will have to have afiddle with my next lot of squid!, having said that all the squid I get is too large to feed in one peice, so its trimmed anyway.
