Hi everyone...For the first time I've posted this thread in another block (Species and Genera Discussions)...but as I have mostly basic questions to ask, I've decided to put some of them here. So, here is the question: I’m going to acquire N. kaiseri and just want to find some basic information about keeping this species in captivity. Of course, I understand that there is a lot of resources in the web, but I’m not quite sure about it’s correctness. I’m not a beginner with amphibians but I don’t know much about this species, and all I see from different posts is that these one is very difficult to keep. But I don’t quite understand the whys and wherefores of such an opinion. I solved the problem with low temperature. What is another difficulty that I should expect if I want this animal in my collection? For example, I’ve read that there must be a large land area in the tank, but I also have been told that this is not an important condition and a drifting wood or a rock coming out of the water surface is enough. So, if you have any experience in keeping these newts, please, just in brief, tell me about basic conditions that must be provided. Or tell me where I can find the correct information. For example, the proportion of land and water area, lighting and so on. Thank you.

The best thing would be to get some experience with other caudates before trying to keep this highly endangered species.
