hi my cynops oriental has just come down what appears to be constipation i have recently moved him to a larger enclosure and instead of him walkin on the bottom or hidding he is on land more often and when he is in teh water he is floating the lower part pof his body seems slightly larger . he has had this before and it went after a few days do you think the stress of moving could of coaused this????????????????? thank you for your help!!!!!

Yes, I think the stress of moving (especially the stress of moving to a new totally-clean setup) could certainly cause this. I doubt that the problem is constipation, however. To reduce the stress of moving, you can set up the new tank with the same ornaments, and even the same water that was in the old tank. And when you clean the tank, don't do a "total" cleaning. Old tank water and new tank water can be VERY different (pH, salts, etc.), and it's possible to kill an amphibian by making an abrupt change in their water properties.

If he stays on land for long, you'll need to find a way to feed him on land.
