I have a white albino axolotl and he has red/pink marking all over himself. It seems to be under the skin. This seems to have happend over night! I have 2 tanks with axolotls and I was changing the water and I put him in the other tank with the other axolotls and left him in there over night. Now his health seems to have declined extremely!! His dorsal crest has lowered and veins are visible almost allover his body. Especially the tail. He seems to have lost weight and looks skinny now.

Does anyone know what could have happend? And are my other axolotls right risk also?

I had the same prob with my baby, but thatnks to advice here in my case it was water temp stress.. ive seen other cases of it on here being after they have overexerted themselves excersizing. Someone with knowledge will be on soon to help....im a newbieish personage

could be??? I just got done analyzing my other axolotls and they are aliitle down too.. so I'm gonna do water changes and move acouple of tanks to colder areas...

If it was just for the red color I would say that he was excited - but visible veins are a sign of stress.
Do you know your water parameters - pH, ammonia, nitrite and temperature expecially? A quick change in water parameters would be stressful to your axolotl.

2 tanks sitting side by side with no connection between them might very well be the same temperature but could have very different parameters. Taking an animal from one to the other could cause increased stress due to those parameter changes. Additionally, moving animals around like that withoug quarantee is a bad idea. I know of fish keepers who had multiple long term and stable tanks and decided to move fish around only to find that the change caused an outbreak of something (Ick etc.). If you just wanted to get him out of the tank for a cleaning, I recommend a clean plastic tub.
