My axolotl has a lump in front of its hind legs, and it's not the lump that indicates the gender.
Here is a picture of it. Although the lump may not be visible in the pictue, the circled area is where the lump is located. It's a noticeable lump.

Hmm not sure. Could it have eaten one of the stones in your tank and the stone be poking out? You should remove the blue stones asap as your axie could eat it and get sick. Axolotls should be kept on a bare tank floor, or sand or with rocks that are too large to fit in their mouths.

Yes it could very well be gravel. They do not automatically regurgitate if they swallow gravel, as some seem to think. If it goes in it will either eventually work its way through its body (excrete it) or at worst can eventually block your axie which could lead to a prolapse and possible death.

If you remove your gravel you'll probably be surprised at how many pieces of gravel it manages to pass if you keep it on a bare tank floor.
