Tiger salamander???

I am thinking about buying a tiger salamander. I want to know if an a tank with mostly water with a rock , that sticks out of the water, and a 10inch long platform in a 10 gallon tank i can put on pictures to show what i am talking about.
 
That's not a good idea for tigers. Tiger salamanders are mainly terrestrial and should by housed in a primarily terrestrial setup accordingly. If you're hellbent on using that set up, go with something like a chinese fire belly newt.

do you have any recomdations of a newt or salamander for my tank set up.
i was considering red belled newts (chinese) or a fire belled toad (chinese)
 
Either of those animals would be fine in that set up provided you didn't get too many of them and you didn't put fire belly toads and fire belly newts in the same tank.
