Hi i work for a store that sells axolotls and i feel its right that i give out the correct info when sellings these rather cool animals. I have in the past used info from this site and others linked to it. However i was hoping if someone could tell me the appropriate amount of feeding they should get. I did hear every second day. I realise axies are able to become obese through over eating and dont want customers making lardy monsters because they arent looking after them correctly.

Cheers

It depends on size and age.

A juvenile axie (approx 5cm-12cm in length) can be fed twice a day.

An axie approx 12-15cm can be fed once a day.
15-20cm size fed every 2 days
20cm+ fed every 3-4 days.

This will of course vary depending upon temperature (warmer temps they may get hungrier; colder temps they tend to eat less) and maturity. If they're overfed they may regurgitate their food a couple of hours later.

Hi Bmovie,

I agree with Kapo, I wanted to say Yay to you for what you are doing I wish the store you worked for was in my country.

Keep it up
