strange gills

My axie seems to have 2 gills fused together, I can't make out if one is just stuck or if they have actually grown fused together
Is this sort of defect normal or should I be worried
It doesn't seem to be bothering him at all

Hello, could you possibly supply a picture of the axolotl? How old is it?
 
Well its a new one to me, but if it doesnt seem to bother him, and he still has the 'feather like' parts of his gills i would suspect that it wouldnt case him any harm, (im only a newbie my self so dont hold me to it) my axie as starge gills also, his lower one on either side go out normally and then fold down at a 90 degree angle (hence his name Yu-Ghi, After Yu-Ghi-Oh with the same 'hair style' lol), and it is due to this induviduallity that i love it so much! :) lol. But supply a picture so people could help you further. hope all goes well

Is the a new developement or has your axie always been like this?
 
I will try and get a photo today, not sure how to upload it though :eek:

I've only had the Axie a few days and didn't notice it at first but it may well have been like it before
 
When you bought it, was it in good condition? Good luck figuring out how to upload pictures, took me awhile;).
