Hi catfishmck,
The easiest way I have found on the dark axolotls is (surprise, surprise) to look behind the legs. Just behind the back legs on the outside (!) of the body, the boys have bulges (cloake) and the girls don't. I can't see from your picture, though.

It also depends on the age of your axolotl as to whether you will be able to sex it. How old is it?
