So i just got my first axolotl. He is about 2.5-3 inches long. I've been feeding him very small pieces of earth worms. Is this ok for him, or should i switch to blood worms for now? I'll post some pictures of him/her tomorrow when i can borrow my roommates camera.

The earthworm is good, its more nutritional then bloodworm. You could alternate it if you like. I feed bloodworm maybe once a month as a treat.

I got a pair that size and have been feeding them bloodworms as they found it easier to swallow and they didn't eat that much. Now mine are about 5" and i'm moving on to earthworms. as long as they eat until they're full and you clean up the mess afterwards i don't think it matters whether you feed them blood or earth worms at such a young age.

Ok, thats all good to know. I just got him, so I'm still a little paranoid.
