Moreton is doing really well and I was wondering should I get a friend for him/her? If so what is the best way to go about it? A visitor said she thought Moreton was too fat? I only feed him 2 or 3 times a week. Any advice would be appreciated. Moreton 021.jpg

Moreton looks lovely, a perfect size.

As far as getting a second, is your tank big enough? If so, then you could get another one of a similar size, and after quarantining for 30 days, you can introduce it to Moreton.

I agree with Kaysie. A second one depends on the size of your tank. I dont think he/she looks fat . he/she looks healthy. If you up grand the tanks you could get one big enough 3 or 4 axies . I think you have the axie bug lol.

My tank is 60cm across the front, 30cm back to front and I keep the water depth at about 26cm. I am so glad to hear he looks healthy as this is what he used to look like. We have been though a lot together.View attachment 4038

AW: To get a second Axolotl or not?

Hello,

when you account that Axolotl can grow till a size of 30 cm you will see, that your tank is much to small.

Greetings Ingo

Moreton is perfect!!!
To get another axolotl is a big decision though and it really depends how big your tank is, each axolotl in my tank has around a foot each, and even that seems too small at times .....:D

Hey Shelia,

Seeing you called Moreton a 'him/her', I'm guessing you may not be able to tell the difference between a male or a female axolotl. The bottom of this page will give you a hand with that.

By the way Moreton looks beautiful and healthy... and female (i think) :)
