I admit it... I'm not a newt or salamander aficionado nor do I own nor intend to own one. But I happen to have encountered one in the wild today, and I do love finding out more about different species of critterati that I encounter when I'm out and about hiking and such.
I signed up here in the hopes that someone would be able to identify the little beastie that my daughter and I encountered today on our hike. He was hiking along the trail, too! I posted a photo in the section on "Fieldwork".
I'm glad to meet you all, and I would be very appreciative of any information anyone has to provide.
