Hi there,

I'm new, my name is Natalie and I'm from Maine USA. I have been interested in amphibians and reptiles since I was a kid and when other little girls had dolls in their bedroom I had aquariums filled with all types of critters.

Currently, I have 7 Ambystoma maculatum (Spotted Salamanders) that I raised from eggs I found in a vernal pool close by where I live. I have 9 Pseudacris crucifer (Spring Peeper Frogs) that I raised from tadpoles in a 30 gal terrarium. 1 Eastern Painted Turtle (Tippy) that I found 4 1/2 years ago. Tippy, was only the size of a quarter, now 8 inches, he resides in a 100 gal aquarium with large cichlid fish. I also have another 30 gal tank with just fish.

Eventually, I hope to get a breeding pair of D. azureus (Blue Poison Dart frogs).

I don't know "anyone" who shares my interest in amphibians or even likes them. My husband is very tolarant of the 4 aquariums in our living room but doesn't share my love of them and I hope to find nice people here that are as interested in the care and raising of amphibiams as I am.
Thanks!
Nat

He'll be tolerant until those peepers start acting up! lol. It's amazing how loud of a sound can come out of such a small body.

Welcome to the forum, Nat. We're glad you found us!

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome!!!
My peepers do peep fairly often, but they really sound great. It brings some springtime into the indoors because it's miserable outside up here in Maine with lots of snow!...LOL!

Welcome to the forum! Where in Maine are you? I used to live in Cape Elizabeth.

I remember not being able to sleep because the peepers in the pond down the street were so LOUD. :p
