Default Hi there - this isn't my first post here...

Hi everyone. I've already posted a question in the newb forum about my newt worries, but I realized after I'd better introduce myself! I'm an animal enthusiast, though I don't have many of my own. I have a Giant African Land snail, and I've inherited 5 mystery (I think fire bellied) newts from a friend. Both of these are in my classroom, a high school biology class to be exact, but they spend their summers and holidays with me at home.
I have been feeding the newt larvae zooplankton and frozen bloodworms, and they seem to be doing well with this. Three have grown significantly, but the two smaller ones are in their own small aquarium, since the big fellas were bullying them a bit.
Anyway, it is so nice to be a part of a community where these animals are respected and cared for; just because they're not fuzzy doesn't mean we don't have a major responsibility when we take them into our homes. I hope that I'm instilling this in my students...I think I am.

I apologize - I am hesitant to post that information because there have been security issues with our computers at school and I'm fairly certain that individuals in my workplace keep track of my online activities. It's entirely possible that my paranoia is unwarranted, and this is not exactly a controversial website. I guess if my colleagues want to read about my newt trials, so be it!
Call me Sly. :)

Welcome, Sly. You can include a "display name" (Sly, or whatever you like) in your profile. That way people in other threads will know what to call you (if you want them calling you anything other than newtbie). The display name, if any, appears above the username on each post.

Congrats on raising the newt larvae thus far - it's not the easiest thing to undertake!
