While I'm typically a lurker of forums, I have decided to to take the plunge and involve myself. I am seventeen years old and studying marine biology in college, and as such usually find myself far removed from the realm of amphibians. It was only a few weeks ago that I first found out about axolotls, previously only known to me from brief mentions of their neoteny in textbooks. After seeing a few in person in a pet store, I went home and devoured everything I could find on the animals, becoming increasingly hopeful that I might be able to care for one. I really want to be able to successfully look after one and anticipate taking great joy in doing so. Thank you to the wonderful community that has provided reference to me as I set up my initial tank; I will continue to appreciate your counsel throughout my involvement with order Caudata! |

Welcome to the Caudata.org Chlorophilian! Look forward to interacting with you on the forum....and great that you have researched care before starting to keep an axolotl.
