A few days ago I ended up with a 4 inch long leucistic axolotl that a friend rescued from really bad conditions. He used to live in a small plastic tupper with only one onch of water because the owner wanted it to morph. Because of that it's gills reduced to almost nothing and it wasn't eating. Three months ago my friend rescued it and made a better set up for it, the gills have started to grow back a little but not that much. It still floats a lot and gulps down air from the surface.
