The winning photos are here: http://www.caudata.org/photoplog/index.php?c=210 They have been colour corrected and cleaned up somewhat compared to their original entry form. This is how they will appear on the calendar.

Slight revision on availability - it'll probably be Saturday because I've got to readjust some of the species name/copyright locations.

This was, by far, the hardest calender competition to judge! There were SO many great photographs by so many people. My first round of "I really like this picture" was almost 30! To narrow that down to 13 was very difficult. So everyone who entered the competition should be proud of themselves; you all did a fabulous job!

I'm waiting for one of the winners to send me a corrected version of his photo (he wasn't happy with the correction I made). Until he sends me his photo I can't put the calendar on sale.

Thanks to all the judges - I'm honored and pleased to have my photo selected. I'm glad you liked it. Congrats to all that entered. There were a lot of fantastic photos! It is also interesting to see the disproportionate representation of Salamandridae among the contest winners. Perhaps they are the most aesthetically pleasing of all salamanders? ![]() Mike

Judging by the quality of so many of this year's entrants, too bad there aren't 30 months in a year! And think of how young I'd still be! |

Well done Andy and thanks for letting us use your photo. If you think timing is good, look at Kaysie's - it's in December and has a "holiday season" colour scheme.

Hey, I forgot to hang up my calendar until today. Did anyone else notice their calendar has the holes in the wrong place, to open in up and hang from the top of the monthly picture? Edit: later: I took a picture But I fixed it with a hole puncher... Last edited by otterwoman; 11th January 2009 at 13:00. |
