My second species to lay eggs this season is *drumroll*....Taricha granulosa...*end drumroll*. So far, 1 egg, but the female appears to have more and was in the process of laying more. The eggs appear fertile.

Great news Aaron, congrats.

Uwe, wild granulosa have been documented mating and laying eggs in all months but November.

So, the eggs are still coming and the first larvae hatched out on January 1st. I have 4 larvae and about 20-30 eggs at this time. Click the image to open in full size.

So Aaron...
Do you have room for all those new newts? Maybe you'll be selling a few to your friends on Caudata.org! *G*

..I've actually been looking for granulosa (or torosa) that have been captive bred, so I know they haven't been mistreated as much as the occasional one that comes through the pet store...

Congratulations and the very best of luck!

Heya Aaron, what's the deal here? Where're dem pics?! Click the image to open in full size.
What did they lay the eggs on?
I'm eager for my own Taricha whatever-they-are to lay eggs. The pair I showed you pics of before have since been joined by another, which seems to be a female. Anyway, a belated congrats!
