Default Salamanders hunting in the rain at night

It's been a while since I posted here, but I thought some of the salamander enthusiasts here would enjoy these videos.

I went for a walk in the woods one rainy night this summer, and saw lots of amphibians out. Redback salamanders (Plethodon cinereus) were all over the place. I sat down under my umbrella and watched this one for about 15 minutes. It let me take a video of it trying to catch some bugs. At the end of the clip you can see it eating in slow motion.



I also saw this red eft (Notophthalmus viridescens) climbing on a tree and eating bugs:



Next summer I hope to do more salamander and other herp videos.
