Wouter, These 2 pictures are from different animals, so do you mean both are male? I don't know what variety they are, I obtained them as youngsters from one of our French friends that visit the dutch "salamanderlanddag" I will put 2 extra pictures in this post of the same animals as above, maybe you can tell me more about the variety then. I Already asked my French friend, but he can't help me with more information about the background of the animals. The only thing he said was that he thought that they ware from India, because of the coloration Animal 1 Animal 2 |

Yes, they both look like males to me. these look exactly like the small dark variety that Mark and I have. These are certainly not from India, the morphology of the animals is different. There have been some personal imports of T. verrucosus from India in the '70, but I think that these animals are all expired or hybridisised by now. I've seen pics of this variety from Doi Inthanon, Thailand... but of course you can never be certain of the origin. |

My animùals come from the same source and they are quite dark animals. To me -as mentioned beofre- they are bullet proof and incredibly easy to keep , to at all like the orange forms at all. I once received 4 larvae just after hatching and reared for adults out of that, so they are truly easy to keep.
