Default Descriptions of T.hainanensis and T.wenxianensis

This is now old news [to the tune of 28 years], and thus not really suited to the taxonomy thread, nor really to the literature searches...

For those with the interest [and the ability to read Chinese or glean critical data from the numbers and summaries], the original descriptions of Tylototriton hainanensis and T.wenxianensis are now available online as "open access". It is clearly a scan of a printed copy, and I suspect the original print version wasn't great quality. However, the type specimens and all their details are included. This is important, since it is exactly those specimens on which the names are attached: a species which does not include one of these specimens is not one of these species. This paper was on my short list of references on Asiatic salamanders which I did not have [along with a bunch of recent ones in really obscure journals]. The summary is in English and addresses the key identifying features [which may now be known to be somewhat different].

This link is the paper itself.
