Plethodontids and Lungless Salamanders (Bolitoglossa, Eurycea, Plethodon, etc.) The largest, and one of the most diverse groups of salamanders, these salamanders have all evolved to breathe solely through their skin and are found almost exclusively in North America.

Here's a few photos of Eurycea cirrigera. This male is very tame and started begging at the glass when he saw me.

People are often surprised to hear I keep a bunch of species in 2.5g tanks. This photo gives you a better idea of just how spacious these tanks are for small plethodontids.
