What an ingenious idea! I bet it will be awesome once you finish it. Will you paint it?

| I don't think I'll be able to paint it. The Krylon fusion paint everyone said was safe for aquariums eats it like the blood from the "Alien" franchise. I have seen other backgrounds made with cement/grout, so that is the route I will most likely take since I want a grey stone look anyway. I just need to do some more research on what type of cement to use and how long it will affect the water it'll be sitting in.

Made a few decorations with sculpey clay. Hopefully I can get a lot done on the castle over the next few days when I have the house to myself.

You know what if you had enough time I bet people would actually pay for these types of tanks, people pay for companies to aquascape tanks with plants and rocks and logs, why not 'retro-aquascaping'.

Put the first skim coat of cement on today. I think for the remaining coats I will switch to mortar. Hopefully I can get it nice and creamy so it'll spread like icing.
