Default Notophthalmus viridescens (pics)

Ill be keeping this thread open throughout the time i have these eastern newts. Enjoy some pictures there are 2 males and 2 females. I also have some eggs of this species I will be documenting there development in this thread. For now here are some pictures of the beauties. One has just entered its aquatic stage recently.

As promised here are some egg spawns.

The first picture is one spawn from about 10 days ago. As you can see they have started to change to a more oval shape.
The second and third picture of one tiny spawn and one massive spawn around 150 eggs! compared to 11! are about 3 days old.

I will start taking pictures of them everyday so we can track there progress.

Everytime i check on these guys there doing there little breeding dance ill take a pic/video of the action next time for you guys!

Are those eggs from the eastern newts?I had thought they lay the eggs in plants and cover them individually.Those look like Ambystoma eggs.I have seen that mating dance a few times,it's very cool.

They're not Eastern newt eggs, they look like frog eggs to me?

i guess there not eastern newts maybe spotted or jefferson salamanders guess we will just have to wait and find out.
