ok today my brother bought me a cynops orientalis and everything looked ok until i saw that it's missing a toe and it has an open sore and its leg it's slightly swollen. what can i do so it can heal alright it doesn't look that bad but i fear it may get worse. any advise is welcome

Rot possibly? Is it young? Melafix is heavenly.

it doesn't look like rot and it doesn'look young, as a matter of fact it's pretty big it around 8cm. thanks ali i might try that any ideas where i can find melafix?

melafix is something you can find in your nearest petco. when using it be sure to dilute melafix first before applying it to the sore. ive used melafix before but i am not sure if it really works...... As for the sore, unless you have a picture, it is hard to give you accurate advice. what color is the sore? how big is it?

Rotting limbs are very common for newly-imported C. orientalis. I've heard of high doses of fish antibiotics being effective, but never tried it myself. See:
