ok today my brother bought me a cynops orientalis and everything looked ok until i saw that it's missing a toe and it has an open sore and its leg it's slightly swollen. what can i do so it can heal alright it doesn't look that bad but i fear it may get worse. any advise is welcome thanks |

melafix is something you can find in your nearest petco. when using it be sure to dilute melafix first before applying it to the sore. ive used melafix before but i am not sure if it really works...... As for the sore, unless you have a picture, it is hard to give you accurate advice. what color is the sore? how big is it?

Rotting limbs are very common for newly-imported C. orientalis. I've heard of high doses of fish antibiotics being effective, but never tried it myself. See: http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/sores.shtml |
