Default 3 foot tank

Hey guys, just a quick question. I got a 36'' long by 12'' deep, and 12'' tall. Would this be better suited for a Fire Salamander (Salamandra salamandra) or a Tiger Salamander (Ambystoma tigrinum)
Not sure who would prefer more space to wander around?

Whoever doesn't go in the 36'' long will go in a 29'' long, 13'' wide, 18'' tall.

Thanks!

Hi Stefanie- I don't wish to be pedantic but i think you should've asked if the smaller tank would be adequate for either of the specimens? I think that the recommended enclosure sizes are in the respective caresheets.

Well I've had my terrestris in the smaller enclosure for the past six months and he's been doing fine. Since the tiger is my new find, I thought I'd set him up in the new tank as well. I couldn't find any dimensions in the care sheets. The difference in surface area is 7''. (so basically a body length)

There are no hard and fast rules about enclosure size. The tiger salamander will inevitably get larger than the fire sal so I would use the larger tank for it. Both tanks sound like a reasonable size for an individual animal.
