Hi guys, Done a quick search, but couldn't find an answer - thought it would be easier to ask the question. I've got some Sharp Ribbed Newts, raised from eggs - looks like a couple are starting to morph. Do I need to do anything? - such as put a rock in? or look at alternative foods? They're eating bloodworm at the mo. Cheers, Phil |

Here's an article from caudata culture that should help http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/raising.shtml.

"Spanish ribbed newts are an exception; they can remain semi-aquatic even as juveniles". ...this is what I was after, we've kept sub-adults in a 90% aquatic set-up in the past. I'll make sure they have something to climb on to - if they want, and I'll post if I have any problems. Cheers, Phil |

I've had no problems raising them 100% aquatic. Having floating plants for them to rest in helps, but they require no actual land.
